The Reserve Bank of India is introducing new design banknotes in the denomination of Rs 2000 as part of Mahatma Gandhi (New) Series

3.Image of the Mangalyaan to celebrate India’s Mars mission

The new denomination has motif of the Mangalyaan on the reverse, depicting the country’ first venture in interplanetary space.

4.Change in Color

The base colour of the note is magenta.

5. Other changes

The note has other designs, geometric patterns aligning with the overall colour scheme, both on the obverse and the reverse. The size of the new note is 66mm x 16

6. For Visually Impaired

For visually impaired there is an Intaglio or raised printing of Mahatma Gandhi portrait, Ashoka Pillar emblem, bleed lines and identity mark. Also, horizontal rectangle with ₹2000 in raised print on the right and seven angular bleed lines on left and right side in raised print.
